No fire

I have a 1986 ford Ltd i have replaced the
starter the alternator and battery i have full
power to lights but it won't turn over just a
click then i have to unplug the battery to
restore power. Can the issue be the starter
solenoid are something else electrical?
Appreciate any help i can get this is my first
project car!

Remove connections from battery terminals, clean all metallic parts including battery nubs or bolts with wire brush and electronics cleaner or rubbing alcohol until shiny. Reconnect all wires and coat all exposed metal with petroleum jelly to prevent further corrosion.
