How far (distance) can you travel on battery only (Toyota Highlander Hybrid)

I agree about 2 miles if going very easy flat surface staying at single low-to-medium speed. Typically what happens is I get up to 45 or so on a regular road using gas/battery and then it goes to battery and will stay that way for a mile or two at most (unless I get a red light and have to stop). But once at speed and if flat and relatively low speed it will stay on battery for quite a while (presuming I'm not using the battery for much else like the A/C, headlights, etc).

i ran out of gas (in my 2006 highlander hybrid limited) on the interstate and ended up coasting (35 mph) in the right shoulder for about a mile before the batteries died. after i got gas, the car started up and the batteries were fine.
