2017 Warning Chirps sound 10 times at startup
Asked by ACRinSD Mar 30, 2018 at 10:17 PM about the 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a used 2017 Expedition that we bought about 3 weeks ago. A few
days ago, we started hearing 10 warning chirps every time we start the
truck after it's been sitting for more than a few minutes. The chimes are
different from any of the other chimes that we've heard. I've checked fluid
levels, tires, codes and there are no issues that I can find. This is with the
seatbelt on or off. I've looked up warning chirps on Ford vehicles, but can't
find anything that explains 10 chirps. I've made a short video in which you
can hear the chirps, and shared it here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found that explanation, but this is definitely 10 beeps, with no repeats. It also doesn't repeat after any length of time driving, unlike the airbag warning which does repeat after approx. 30 minutes, from what I've read.
Tom is right... it should still be under the manufactures warranty and any Ford dealer should check it out for you... UNLESS IT WAS A TOTALED WRECK AND REBUILT!
Did you get a Car Fax report on it when you bought it?
It's under the powertrain warranty as it's at 48,000 miles. The bumper to bumper is only good to 36,000 miles. I'll end up taking it to the dealership to see if they can figure it out.
OK, I found it. The dealership installed their "SWAT" GPS tracking device in the truck, even though we told them we didn't want it. Time to play and see if I can do anything with it.
That is like a "Black Box" on an airplane. They can tell not only where you are/been but how fast you drove, and more. "Big Brother" lives
Yep... very annoying. I laughed when they wanted $1,100 for a simple GPS unit. I told them I could get the same features for a $200 buy in and $50 a year for the cell service. They weren't happy with my answer.
