I have 2016 chevy Silverado 1500 LT. I looked up the vin number and it says LD. Why is that?

Reviewing the Chevrolet site, I found that the 2019 'LD' is the previous generation Silverado that has the 2018 look, as opposed to the new 2019 LT, LTZ, etc that has the new body styling. This is similar to what the Dodge Ram offers for 2019 - 2 versions: the 'new' and the 'classic' body style.

LD is Light Duty, that's what is showing on your VIN search. It's not the trim package, you may have a WT, LT, or LTZ trim package. The 2019 with the LD designator was the 2018 body style.

LD..means legacy deluxe...legacy of the last of the older body style...so I was told ..I have a 2019 1500 LD..2WD 5.3 Crew cab short bed.. chrome running boards..20 inch chrome wheels..bed cover..up graded floor mats..matching painted bumpers..guess that is where the deluxe comes from
