Service Shifter

Asked by WINate Aug 16, 2019 at 03:13 PM about the 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Service shifter warning started at 19000 miles and
comes on more and more frequently.  Called
service center they mentioned that I may need to
have the shifter and harness replaced.  I guess I'll
see next week.  Good thing it's still under warranty.
It seems like there are many with this issue, has a
replacement been successful etc?  I told them I
need a loaner (bc I do) so hopefully it can be
corrected.

The dealer ordered and replaced the wiring harness. I'm not sure if they replaced anything as far as the shifter. The work was done under warranty and took a day for parts and a morning to complete. No further issues with about 500 miles driven. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it dosent reoccur ourlt of warranty.
