Service Shifter

Asked by WV_JEEP Jul 10, 2019 at 10:40 AM about the 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Getting the 'Serve Shifter" warning also on my 2017 Cherokee Trail hawk -  started and 12,000 miles. It always went off, but the last time I turned the jeep off and went to restart as usual to reset whatever is wrong...the jeep would not start back up... as if it was still in drive. Has anyone had theirs fixed? Covered under any type of power train? It did finally start but the warning light is coming on with each drive now.

7,000 over the basic 36,000 mile warranty. Was hoping maybe covered under a recall or somehow power train. Since this seems to be an issue for so many
