My warning 8% oil life warming just came on
and we are currently out of town and need to
drive another 400 miles. Should we get the
oil changed right away or can it wait until
after the 400 miles and we get home?

It probably won't hurt anything to drive it another 400 miles but I would be concerned about losing warranty coverage. If you have it changed at a Chevy dealer, that info will be entered in the GM data base to protect your warranty. Any place else, be sure to get an invoice to prove oil change done on time, using the right oil. Many newer trucks specify synthetic. This is a good question for the Chevy dealer.
