Very loud at startup !

Question type: General

Very loud at startup! Once in gear it settles down to normal. Heat shield has been tightened up but still feel there an exhaust leak. If a leak, would the car be noisy all the time? (why only when it starts up?)

Heat can close up small gaps in the exhaust. Is the noise exhaust or engine rattle? Check the oil level.

Yup. Unusual to have a really rattle-some timing chain except under 0F.
