Jeep Wrangler won't reverse

2002 Jeep Wrangler won't reverse. Sometimes on flat
land will but reversing uphill won't happen. Just kinda
whirs. When pressing the gas peddle you can hear the
engine work fine car just won't reverse.

This is a common fault on these... Sometimes it is an 'easy fix' with the ring/band just snapped. Sometimes... Rebuild is needed. Hard to find out which, unless you open it...
