I have a 1999 for Taurus lx and it has a
Vulcan v6 motor in it... what other motor is
best for this car?

The only other motor used in the 1999 Taurus was the Duratec but I don't think a swap would be easy or successful. Your compatibility with a different computer and transmission would be the problem. Actually the Vulcan is a pretty durable engine and I would stay with that one for many good reasons.
