2018 Toyota Camry SE sometimes won't start
Purchased used 2018 Camry SE 6,500 miles as CPO from dealer. Original
Dealer sold car to me. Dealer Service records show it received its 5,000
mile maintenance and no issues are documented and no other service
record other than the checkup..
Sometimes car will turn-over but not start. Have had the car towed twice
back to dealer. First occurrence was day of purchase, towed back next day.
They test the battery and crank it and tell me NTF, can't do anything and
have no idea what could be causing my observation. Second occurrence
towed back to Dealer, NTF and they check the battery. I asked them to check
the fuel pressure and use scan test tool. Three hours later, report back NTF
and here's your car again. Happened again.... I've not had the car for a
week yet.
When running, car seems have no observed issues (knocking, sluggish,
etc...). Personal observations Car seems to experience this issue after sitting
in the sun. If I wait till morning, so far will start just fine. Check it several
times in morning, all okay. Tried again multiple times 1pm-3pm @ 88deg
outside, and engine turns but not fire up. Try again at 7pm and voila, starts
right up. To prove my point, I took video when would not start and shared
with Dealer.
Dealership Service tells me they have never heard of this before and have
no idea what could cause this issue and would have to experience the issue
in their bay to troubleshoot. I've taken car to a different dealership for
warranty repair.... they look online and found no record of any service work
on my vehicle.
Very frustrating.... any ideas?
