Etc and overheating on 2003 Lincoln ls 3.9 v8
Okay, this is going to be a long one. I own a 2003 Lincoln ls with about 115,000 miles
on it. The car started having etc code come up on the instrument panel every time I
started it and would go into limp mode. Once the car warmed up, I could restart the
car, and it would run fine. So I tried to find the problem, but still drove the car. Then I
had my coolant reserve tank break, so I replaced. After that, the car kept overheating.
Over time I replaced the engine cooling fan, the caps, the water pump, the thermostat
housing and thermostat, made sure all the hoses were good, and that there were no
collapsed hoses. During a test drive to test some work, the gas pedal failed to
respond. I replaced the throttle body, and the positioning sensor. After unplugging the
battery with the new one in, the pedal worked fine. Now I still have the etc failure mode
and the overheating problem. I took it into the shop, and the codes are telling them
that it is a throttle body. I doubt this because I replaced one already. Any thoughts?
