did you look at the dipstick? was it covered in glitter? how's the transmission level. It is fussy and must be measured in park with the engine running- Take it to the transmission place, have the filter and oil changed-

A better description of the noise would help. I am sure you checked the fluid. Sure it's not a heat shield or inspection cover vibrating/loose.

Unfortunately there is no dipstick to check the trans fluid. you have to raise the vehicle and take out a little plug inside of a big plug and have it idling it park like bob said. so if you do not have access to a lift it would be best to take it to a shop and have them help you with your noise concern. and maybe mrmoony will be right maybe its something simple and not your transmission at all.
