Do car batteries go dead often at dealership?

I am looking to buy a used car. Should I be concerned that the battery was
replaced twice in a year at the dealership, or is that common since the cars sit a
lot and may not be driven much?

Sometime they do, especially if they don't get driven. Replaced twice is odd, and you mentioned the car sitting for over a year at the dealership? That means it was way overpriced or something is wrong with it. I would personally avoid the vehicle.
I was thinking Covid may have slowed down sales this year and led to reduced use/buying at the dealership?
I would want it checked for parasitic battery drains. How do you know it had the battery replaced twice?
From the car fax report.
