98 lincoln continental air ride

You can convert it to coil springs but struts/shocks don't act as a suspension component that actually hold the axle to the frame..did you swap the entire rear axle, differential and all when you did the '94?

ok so what car can I get the coil springs from to put on the lincoln?Taurus? T-Bird? What car ,do you know ?

Nope, sorry that I don't know. But what I do know is that they can be had new, which is probably better anyway as you don't know if the car, assuming junkyard, has had them overloaded and weakened, softened or what. Google it and you will find several outfits that sell them new. Continental specific, so they fit exactly right, not too high, not too low, and new steel.

Replaced rear air suspension on my 99 lincoln with standard suspension from Strut-Masters for $300.00. Included everything. It cost another $300.00 to have it installed. Well worth it. No difference in ride, only difference is with a lot of weight in trunk car does'not level out as with air ride.

Dont buy from orielys or auto zone they are crap. Ur car will bounce around like a sliinky. Used to be only 1 co that had the coil springs. When i did mine theycost 150 each were rated correctly for that evelotion. U also needed kboy shocks . I have had car for 200,000 miles and is slill ridiggreat. I have compared with otjer vars using dif mnufc and mine is still riding better then thiers. Dont stitn on this . Remember the rear air coils were a "Level ride feature" Even though it gave a superior ride. U will notice a diff in ride especially with no load in rear. Put a 3or 4 hundred load in back seat couple passengers or lots of luggage in trunk and you are good to go. It is a fairly easy job if uhave a lift as u may or may not have tio drop rear end out by a couple inches. Will go back together easy. If you do this your suspention warning ligjt will come on. Some cars u can turn it off others not. Mine has been on over 2 years dont worry about it. Also disconect power to susp comp. Hope this helps. Hello! You guys seem to really know what you're talking about, so I'd like to ask another question! I have a 2002 Town Car and the air shocks (or whatever was originally installed) went bad. My husband did something like you're talking about, but whatever it was gas caused the car to be all over the road!! It's scared me so bad that I'd pull over and let people pass me and I don't want to drive it anymore!! Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can you suggest a much better repair?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Robin

if its all over the road sounds like u may have some suspension issue like bad sway bar links or maybe inner tierods or ball joint can be worn.Did u have the car aligned after installing the new struts.
