2018 Forester Headlight Indicator

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2018 Forester has Auto Headlights and the Headlight Indicator Light
Stopped working after 18 months. I took the car the the dealer and was
told that my model does not come equipped with the indicator. I saw the
light come on for over 18 months and know it it not true but how do I prove
it to the dealer. I suspect that when they looked at another 2018 Model to
see if the light worked they looked a model without Auto Headlights.
"Headlight indicator light (if equipped)
This indicator light illuminates under the following conditions:
When the light switch is turned to the following positions:
When the light control switch is in the “AUTO” position and the headlights
illuminate automatically."

I would complain directly to SOA. I think your dealer is blowing you off because they don't want to mess with your problem.

Make sure you don't have dirt or detritus covering the dash's ambient light sensor, eh?
I forgot to mention that the lights do come on in the dark or if you cover the sensor on the dash. The :Headlights On" indicator light does not come on when the headlights come on automatically or if the light switch is turned to the on position.

Yup: officially out of order. Yell at your Subie dealer again.
Wow what a mess. I sure hope they fixed it for you. Subaru no longer reliable.
