1998 Ford Expedition 4x4 with Factory airride
We own a 98 Expedition. Its got factory airride.
Recently over the past couple of months. We've
noticed our airpump running more than usual, so
we've been turning the pump off after letting it lift
the system about every other week. The front end
of the truck sags slightly in between turning the air
pump back on. My husband listened under the
front end and hears an air leak that seems to be
coming from one of the front shocks. Do you think
if I order a new pair of the front air shocks that it's
worth it to try and keep the airride system in place?
As much researching as I've done, the systems do
seem to have a lot of problems eventually. Would
it be better to totally convert to a shock and spring
non airride instead of trying to salvage our airride if
it seems like everything else like the rear airbags
and airpump are still functioning? Just hoping for
some input from those that have dealt with airride
issues. Thanks!!
