I am looking to replace my 2001 mazda 626 engine what make and modle engines are intrchangable with the 2.0

My car has blown an head and needs new head or engine replacement would rather replace complete engine but I was told a number of different makes and modle that were interchangable, can someone or many help out with this.

ok the 2001 mazda 626 was also a ford Probe if i am not mistaken, but if you wanted to you can literally do any engine swap in the mazda it would just take modifications and work, my suggestion as a Student becoming a mechanic is to stick with the 2001 626 engine otherwise you might have to do some major modifications, the Ford Probe's 2.0l would also work easily since it was literally a mazda rebadged as a ford with the same engine and chasis also the Mazda MX-6 had the same engine you have so that would also be a great choice. but with money you literally can put any engine into any car, if you have any other questions just ask hope this helped.
