I have a 91 & 92 capri for over 20 years and always had that problem AFTER the original belt wore out . The replacement belt that everyone sells are to narrow .They will not last . Try changing a belt at 2:00 am on an interstate with nothing but a flash light . I did . After lots of looking around I found the only belt that lasts .Go to Carquest and get belt XL9360 made by Gates. size 15/32 x 36&3/8 . I never had one brake . After a month of driving re adjust the tension .
