Check engine light flashing

Asked by GuruTYM6C Jun 17, 2018 at 06:18 AM about the 1998 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Taurus. It has been running fine, idles
a little high sometimes. Tonight driving home it
excellerated on its own then the check engine light
flashed 3 times then went off. First time it's done
this since I bought it a year ago. When I bought it
my mechanic hooked it up to his machine and said
everything was fine. What could be causing this?
