What could cause the headlights of a Mitsubishi Outlander to come on by themselves, without ignition?

Asked by Linda Lowry Aug 02, 2015 at 04:49 PM about the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2005 Mitsubishi Outlander--Original problem-Noticed headlights came on and stayed on without an ignition key, along with the A/C fan...could not be shut off without disconnecting the battery. Replaced the radiator fan motor control module after finding that models were recalled for this issue, but not mine. The problem only went away for less than a day. Have since bought a new battery after driving it to work, believing it was repaired. Now the lights blink on and off without ignition when they choose to...hours after the ignition is shut off. And the NEW battery is disconnected for now. Any ideas?
