I've got a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse it's 18 years old.
It's got 66000 how much of a priority is it to change
the timing belt

If this is an interference motor (Which it probably is) It should have been changed 3 times by now going on 4 so your definitlly on barrowed time. On some cars the water pump is run off the Timing Belt in this case it's usually it's recommended that the water pump be changed at the same time

My son's 2007 2.4L broke on the freeway. It had 50k on the second timing belt. Just finished installing the new head. 800 bucks worth of parts. Don't wait to change it!
