Can I and how hard would it be to turbo my 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?

Question type: Car Customization

I know I would have to get a turbo kit new
manifold and maybe have to lower the
compression. I have recently redone the
heads and probably put over 5000 worth of
parts to make the car like new. Any
suggestions?

buy a car that performs the way you want- 50,000 won't turn that Mitsu into a Ferrari-

Yeah- my answers seem pointless- but you asked- and my answer is directly to the point- it seems crazy to spend a lot of money on a '97 Eclipse- but everybody has different tastes- and if that's what rocks your world, cool! you may be one of those guys in the car mags who takes an old Japanese car to the ultimate show-car status- but if you have that level of expertise and bank account, then why ask us? and if you don't, and you just want it to go faster, a turbo is not the way to go- yes you can put a turbo on it at great expense- but like the thousands before you, the engine would blow up a week later because a turbo needs a different kind of engine that will handle the increased horsepower, the increased loads- so you see- "buy a car that performs the way you want"- right to the point-

Well I'm in the same boat. I bought 97 spyder gs, as a project car and now that I have started putting money in it, I wanna see what I can get it too do. Best of luck man. From what I read of your post you seem too be on the right track.
