If you drive a lot in snow get a AWD car. Good tires are also a key to winter traction.

I had a 2015 and a 2021 Kia soul and both handled rain and snow very well. Front wheel drive I never had any issue's with road conditions. I had 560,000 miles on the 2015 before it died with no major issues every replace. Most expensive replacement part was a alternator at 360,000 miles.
