2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid "NOT HYBRIDING"

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 Fusion Hybrid only goes into "Hybrid" mode when stopped at a light or stop sign.  As soon as I remove my foot from the brake pedal the motor turns back on and doesn't stop until the next stop.
I heard it might be because the Hybrid battery is over ten years old and to fix it the battery memory needs to go back in time.  If this is true how does one do that?
