Todays cars are so dependent on electronics and wireless, and bluetooth. I would ted to say yes. Have the battery charged back up to full charge and see what happens. She shouldn't have another issue if she takes the key with her.

Apparently it does. Also if rear gate left open for a few hours, the car dies.
Daughter left keys in ignition, parked in a locked garage. Battery very low 8 hours later. Does leaving keys in the ignition cause a parasitic drain?
