Asked by Nikkie Jul 24, 2019 at 04:35 PM about the 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

05 Nissan Altima 2.5 white smoke out of
exhaust. Also I'm losing oil somehow but
No mixed fluids, no oil or any other fluids
on the ground, no hard start, it doesn't die
out. It runs perfect except for the smoke. I
did recently have new plugs due to oil in
cylinders also replaced the cover because
my seals were bad. Any advice? Please
help!

White smoke is an indication of coolant leaking into the cylinders. You need to do a compression test, look for coolant in the cylinders. You likely have a leaking or blown head gasket.

I've previously had oil in the cylinders but that problem has been fixed. Is this also a indication of a blown head gasket?

Previous entry from Gary was right on the money! Compression check will answer your question.
