2005 Nissan Murano Engine Noise

Asked by 13trip07 Mar 03, 2019 at 01:36 PM about the 2005 Nissan Murano SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Murano has a knocking or flapping noise when accelerating. It knocks
faster as you speed up. It does not make this noise when idling or revving the
engine. I do not seem to be losing any power and everything else seems fine.
What could this be?

I just had my axle replaced because it was vibrating/bouncing down the interstate. However, the dealer found that my lower arms are wearing. If it had been a lower arm issue, the repair guy told me I would have heard clanking. The axle issue was easily noticed as he test drove and made a turn, it could not align itself properly. Hope that gives you insight.
