What would make my 2005 Nissan murano use a lot of gas?

My 2005 Nissan murano is using to much gas. It's only
going 14 miles per gallon in town.

Try turning off the air conditioner. That will save gas. Also cars use more gas in very hot or very cold weather and stop and go traffic. So this is probably normal. Sorry. Almost nobody gets the mileage advertised on the car because they aren't driving under the same conditions as those used when the vehicle was rated.
