It is mounted on the driver side of the radiator support bar and it is attached to a bracket. I'm thinking it could most likely be some kind of air sensor.... I'm not suite what it is.

It may not be a sensor. What you describe may be th horn. There is one sure- fire way to find out, have somebody blow the horn with your finger on the device WITH THE ENGINE OFF FOR SAFETY, or better yet you bloe the horn with the help. The sensor for turning on and off the fan is the temperature gauge, the fan does not run all the time, only when there is not enough air flow through the radiator. Is this it?

i'm going to add 2 photos first thing in the morning. One will be of the "sensor" in place and the other of the "sensor" itself.
