why does the brake lights stay on after i took the switch out could it be the
problem is not the switch on my 2001 nissan quest

Really ? You took out the switch and wonder why you have a problem ? Just because you can doesn't mean you should .

i took the old one to replace it with the new one i got. while i had the old one out i put the fuse back in and the brake light came on. must be the brake shoes and pad needs replacing. thank you for your answer
