2006 Honda Civic hybrid

You have wires touching each other or a failed component bad. Shorting out. Going to have to trace it to find it, Fuse block could be melted, may be from the battery itself or wires to it. best look it over real well and if not found take to a shop.

My brother is a mechanic and will be going through t this weekend just wondering if anyone had any tips but thank you so far he thinks that it's some black wire that runs along the drivers side

Honda switched to a new lithium-ion battery pack in 2012-2013 Civic Hybrid because of safety hazzards. It very possible its the Lithium Battery. But I did find this: "MARCH 02 2011 NHTSA Reference #11V106000. Number Affected: 36,656. Summary: Honda is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Honda Civic hybrid vehicles. There is a potential for the voltage converter that relays power from the integrated motor assist (ima) system to the vehicle's electrical components to fail. Consequence: This failure will cause the headlights to turn off, the engine to stall, and prevent the vehicle from being restarted, increasing the risk of a crash. Fix: Dealers will replace the voltage converter with not fees. The safety recall began on March 25, 2011. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009 a select option 4"

Taking it in Monday! For recall! Hopefully that's the problem! Is there a way to have my mechanic check if that's the issue?

If it still has the recalled unit on it, should have different part numbers.

Disconnected the converter and main fuse didn't blow car started! Taking it Monday to get the recall done! Hopefully good from there! Thanks man you helped me out a lot!!!
