car turns over but won't start

battery go to start it and it turns over but

I have a 2000 Alero it turns over but it will not start it acts like it's not getting any fire what could be the problem

2000 Olds Alero won:t start let sit for five minutes and it will start

Have you checked the security system, sometimes you might have to relearn your cars computer, turn the key just beyond the on to where your gauges move let go of the key and let it sit for 30 min. Turn key off and try to start, this should work

I can tell you this much. You will get all kinds of answers and suggestions about your car from people who know about ad much as you do. Do yourself a favor . Go buy a ser ice and repair manual for 25 bucks. Haynes is the name of these manuals at most auto parts stores. You won't be sorry.. Someday someone will tell you to do something and you will end up destroying your computer then that will set you back even more. I get a kick out of people giving advice when most don't ecen know where the key goes. Good luck

I had the same problem. Replaced fuel pump, crankshaft sensor, fuse box because I discovered I was only getting 5vdc to the fuel pump circuit. Long story short it was the IGNITION SWITCH! Couldn’t believe it
