WHY WONT MY 96 MUSTANG CATCH GEAR IN P AND R?

I JUST REPLACED THE REAR END IN MY MUSTANG AND NOW IT WONT CATCH P OR REVERSE BUT SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE R CATCHES FROM D TO R... ANYONE HAVE A CLUE WHY???

Two words, Transmission Linkage. When you said you replaced the rear end, was it from another mustang, or new oem parts? Did you rebuild the entire rear end? Which parts?
