I just got my key programmed by a lock smith for my Lexus is300. The security light goes off but won't start, it wants to start but for some reason it doesn't. can it be the fuel pump? Any suggestions

@sheriffstech The program key didn't make my car turn on but the security light went off so the program was a success.
@js08016 The key that had worked in the past broke, son had to get another key and program it to my car.

No the program was not a success. The locksmith needs to come back and try again at no charge to you...and i agree with Jim about taking the car to Lexus or Toyota dealer for repair if the locksmith is a no go...ask for your money back from the locksmith if they cannot repair it.
The day before when I turned on my car I notice it turned on and started shaking for a couple seconds but it turned on. Then all of a sudden later on that evening my key broke, called a locksmith and he programmed a different key today and seemed like it wanted to turn on but it didn't. I was wondering what if my fuel pump went out?

Well with that additional information, it is possible that your fuel pump has failed. You know need to seek out an ASE technician to confirm the fuel pump failure with a fuel pressure tester. I hope this has been helpful.
My mechanic is coming tommorow, hopefully I'll get my car fix, thank you guys!!!!
