2006 Pontiac G6 Keeps losing power and won't restart. Has the locked car symbol

I bought this car and the guy said he didn't know of any problems with it. But the DAY I Bought it, I was driving down the highway at 65 mph and it just lost power. I pulled over and I couldn't get it restarted. after it sat at the garage for the weekend because it wasn't open when the car died, it started again and they said I ran out of gas- which it hadn't done! It has done it again 3 times now, just dies while I am driving and then the security system engages or something and it won't even turn over and the alarm starts going off when I try to start it.

I believe that car has a faulty ignition tumbler check for a recall and only start it with the one key onn the key ring not with your house keys etc

Now that I have had it back a few days, I reprogrammed the key, and the security light doesn't stay on anymore. Now it starts fine when it is cold and won't start when the engine is hot. And it takes HOURS for it to cool down. Any idea how to fix this? is there a thermostat somewhere that needs to be changed or something?
