Ls1 supercharged or LS3 stock

Asked by 98ta Jul 31, 2016 at 12:27 PM about the 1998 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Question type: Car Customization

My question is I have a 98 Trans Am with an LS1
with 220000 miles the last hundred and twenty
thousand miles I put on it engines still in great
shape that I believe that valve is getting ready to
drop so my question is do I rebuild the LS1 with
forged internals and put a 6-speed behind it and
put a supercharger on it or get a stock LS3 with the
6-speed I already have the LS1 block so I don't
have to go and buy a block and I could just rebuild
that one or I'll have to kick out the cost to buy an
LS3 block and that's likely I'm not going to be able
to afford a new one so I'll have to get between 40
and 60000 mile run I think it's cheaper to build LS1
but I also know that I'll have so much more of a
motor with the LS3 Forest horsepower when I'm
finished I want between 500 + 550 to the rear
wheels but no less than 500 what is yall's opinion
