Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Dodge Quad cab 4.7L V8 the oil pressure gauge is running very
high. When I start the truck it fine. Once I accelerate and get on the highway

If it only happens when the engine is cold and goes back down I wouldn't worry about it. My S10 Pick Up can sometimes read as high as 70 PSI in the wintertime when the engine is cold. Once it warms up it stays between 25 and 40 PSI, depending on engine RPMs. You can hook up a mechanical gauge and see exactly what the PSI is. I think you'll see it's ok. Hope that helps! Jim

No it happens randomly.. Usually right after I get up to a high speed when it happens. I drove 30 miles yesterday nothing happened. I parked shopped for 10-15 minutes came out, started the truck and it was fine. I got on the highway to come home it looked fine but then it jumped to the last line on the high side.
