Hey, Louy, as you probably already know, blue smoke is always an in- dication that you have an oil leak. could be bad rings; bad head gasket; maybe cross contamination between the coolant and transmission oil; fulty oil pump??? I would start with the basics like doing a cyclinder leak down test to rule out the rings. Do you access to a scantool. If so are there codes??? Get back at me to let know how things are coming along.

Won't crank... let the enginge cool downb over night, then check the battery. Remember to check the basics first. You said you put in a thermostat... what was your diagnosis to make you think it was the thermostat??? Did the temperature light come on??? Did you check the oil pump. Is there antifreeze in the radiator instead of 50/50. Like i said get back at me on it-cool.

The V6 engine of that generation had two cam chains, one in the back of the engine, one in the front. The guides tend to go out on these engines, they are teflon coated. If the rear cam chain went out, just purchase another remanufacturered engine. The entire engine has to come out of the vehicle to replace it. The labor is the same to install a reman engine, just up with the extra bucks if this is the case.
