Part time 4x4

Question type: General

I recently purchased a 1999 Dakota Sport V-8 4x4. When i put it in 4wd the light on the dash say's part time 4x4. The 4wd system works fine and I found in the owners manual that one of the options is a transfer case with a part time selection but mine does not have it. Can anyone tell me what is the difference or is it just the same light on the dash.
