Hello You seem to have hit what is most likely the problem: the fan doors may be stuck. I would recommend visiting a mechanic on this one. Best of luck! CarGrrl

The lights blinking is a sign the control panel is bad. It is not telling the doors to open to the right position and it has gone back to the default position. Which is always where it is set for defrost. I have had the same problem on two vans. I finally just opened the box under the dash on one and tie wraped my doors so it always come out of the a/c vents on the dash. In Texas we need a/c a lot more than heat. and I still get hot air from the vents when I need it. You just move the heat control knob and it is hot.
