Doors are not unlocking with remote control

My wife must have misused the remote control now the doors are not unlocking

2 immediate actions: A.check condition of remote's battery - if its 10% less of stated voltage replace it. B. Disconnect car's battery cables for a minute and reconnect - this is equivalent to rebooting the cars computer to correct a glitz.
