why does black smoke come into the car through the vents of 530i,2001?

when i roll to a stop after being on the freeway, black smoke comes into the
car thru the vents of my 2001 model 530i BMW?

Have you checked under your hood? Look for leaks from your valve cover gasket. Check if you're low on oil My guess is the valve cover is leaking on the exhaust and smoking, and the air vent is sucking it up.

Possibly oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold. Definitely check the valve cover gasket.
