should the light for 4 wheel drive be flashing when in 2 wheel drive on a 2012 Dodge Durango?

I have a 2012 Dodge Durango and noticed that my light by my switch for 4 wheel drive is
flashing.  Never noticed it before if it was solid or flashing.  Recently was in an accident,
and don't know if that could be an issue.
