Not picking up speed

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi all I have a Mercedes C class 2012
(C180) it seems the car doesn't move as
fast as it did and sometimes struggles to
hit any type of speed for example I Have to
put my foot down to get over 30 mph and
sometimes I am at 4 revs doing so instead
of the usual 2/3
When I do Rev so hard I am worried I will
blow it because it is going up to almost 5
but my speed is 40 mph I am worried I am
not sure how to check this without going to
a rip off mechanic.. I am tempted to buy an
air filter but not sure
Can anyone help?

Try some simple maintenance things first. Check air and replace if necessary clean throttle with throttle body cleaner replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank then take out on road and hit the passing gear a few times this will clear out any gum and carbon build up in system.
First off is your C class still under warranty? if so take it to the dealer, if not a good indepent mercedes mechanic would be a good choice. This there a check engine light?
If your car goes into limp mode which it sounds like it has then you will need to get the codes read and find out what is causing the issue.
It is possible the mass air flow sensor is bad or needs cleaning, as this has been the cause of others with the same issue.
my C200 W204 2007 KOMPRESSOR doesnt pick up speed on pull off and has a bad idle sound. It is struggling to reverse on a step place.
