2015 Wrangler Vapor Lock?
Asked by chefjulie Jul 04, 2017 at 09:36 AM about the 2015 Jeep Wrangler
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a used 2015 (purchased in April 2017)....it has been in service 4 times
with an intermittent starting issue. NO ONE has been able to figure it out. It
runs fine, but short bursts of starting and stopping is when it has a problem.
It cranks but doesn't turn over. If it has time to cool, then it will start fine.
Under MFG warranty b/c it is under 36,000 miles. finally have it somewhere
that diagnoised Vapor Lock? Does that sound right? From what I am
reading, that happens on older cars. It has been in service longer than I
have been driving it! Help!

If the problem is documented Jeep cannot wash their hands of the issue just because the warranty expires, especially since they never fixed the problem. Did the person that told you "Vapor Lock" find the problem or is this just a guess? My guess is that it is an electronics issue. Have they determined if the no-start issue is fuel or spark related?
Not sure lemon laws apply to used cars. It does not in my state - California.
It is still in the service. Vapor Lock was the diagnosis. Beyond that, I honestly don't what tests they have run. 3 other dealerships could not determine Anything wrong...basically keep hearing we are not finding CODES.....I have only had the car since April, so this has been a long frustrating journey. I have all of the service tickets and will continue until JEEP fixes the car. I get the feeling that no one wants to work on it bc they are not getting paid and it seems to be labor intensive. I am not a mechanic so understanding all of this has been difficult. Seeking help and looking for input. Thank you.
One other quick question....was does Flex Fuel Mean? That is listed on the Vehicle Info?
Engine size 3.6 Liter MPI. Researching that tells me it it fuel injection. Does that make a difference? The Flex Fuel is listed on the carfax, but can't find it listed anywhere else. I don't have the car or manuel here b/c it has been in service since June 13th.
