Has anyone had repeat cylinder 2 misfire issues on grand caravan?
Asked by JG257 Feb 03, 2022 at 11:02 AM about the 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
We recently started having issues with our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Cylinder 2 misfire was the original check engine light. We had everything
fixed, plugs, housing units and even the fuel injector. Plug and cables 2
times since Nov 2021. The check engine light is still on and upon reading
reviews online I have found over 100 people have the same issue that it
comes back as a engine cylinder that needs replaced to correct the issue. I
have filed a complaint online www.nhtsa.gov They are looking for anyone
else that may be experiencing the same issue or have already replaced it.
Please fill out a complaint online so we can all get a recall started and get
our money back. This is not a cheap fix. Thanks!

Recalls are safety issues, a terrible engine design won't fall under a recall. You can maybe get a Class action suit started.
The auto shop told me the car can come to a complete stop while driving with this issue
Same. Issue with my 2019. Ive replaced all components associated with the cylinder. Im told I have to replace the entire head.. Now the code shows as perminant and I can't get check engine light out. In my can't get inspection with check Engine light on... So has to be taken off the road or fix.
i have a 2015 and my cylinder 2 misfire turn out to be a piston ring came up to the resole by doing a compression test on the motor after test every other option and #2 had 90psi and the other 5 had 150psi when put a cap of oil in the spark hole and redid the test it came up to 120psi on #2 so now it a motor replace or rebuild with no money to do any (still drive the car every day for approx. 30km)

We are having the same problem with our 2017 Grand Caravan. Where do we fill out the complaint?

We are having the same issue with our 2018 Dodge Caravan. We are told it will be $3000 or more to fix, and we are being told it may be a better choice to replace the engine. Is there a class action lawsuit that we can join? Or, is there a lawyer out there who is willing to initiate a class action suit? This is a known issue with this vehicle and there are countless individuals affected.

the Dealer changed spark plugs and fuel injector and that did not fix it.They then replaced the head on on #2 cylinder side of Engine and that solved the problem.I did all of that before 60,000 miles .Now it is at 83000 miles and it stopped the problem. The head had a maching problem on #2 cylinder Mechanic felt. After 60000 miles , the Caravan Mfger warranty ends on drive train unless you have an extended warranty .
Have the same issue right now with our 19 at 68k miles so just out of warranty. Another pile of garbage from Chrysler. Changed plug and coil and tripped the CEL for #2 misfire on the way home from a short trip. Guess I will fix it and get rid of it before it has another issue.
Same issue but mine is a 2016 RT with 110k miles. Shop recently changed spark plugs, coil and injector to the tune of about $1800. Had leaky radiator changed about a year ago which was just about $800 Now being told need cylinder head which is about $5000. I have ALWAYS had regular services done, no neglect. We too will be looking to get rid of the car because I just nothing but problems lately. Such a shame because it looks nice car for being a mini van.
also same issue 2019 caravan GT cylinder 2 misfire permanent code all component's brand new cant inspect and still paying for the van please help even the head was changed smh
Same problem with 2018 #2 cylinder misfire code and find out compression was 80psi all other cylinders 150 psi.only 63,000 miles.what can be done seem like lots of problems with this?
I had done the compression test on my 2015 couple months before i sold it And try doing the compression test with 1 cap of engine oil see if pressure increases, if it do the chance of it being a oil ring is high

I have the same issue with my 2019, 72,000 Miles, cylinder 2 misfire. I can clear the code and drive 200-400 plus miles on the interstate with no problem, but the check engine light still comes back on with the same code when I reach stop and go driving. Any thoughts other than taking a huge loss trading this #&%$#@& vehicle in?
