I read this is a common problem with Alero's. The post read that the problem is actually the flasher relay which is located behind the flasher button on the dash board. I have the same problem, and came across this answer in a post somewhere. Also in the same post, it stated that if you hit the top of the dashboard right above the flasher switch, the turn signals will begin to function again. Well, I did not believe it at first, but why not, I hit the top of dash board "hard" , above the flasher switch, had to try a couple times to find the sweet spot. and well it worked for me. Only thing is, it is a temporary fix, may last a month, 2 months, one week, then you have to hit it again. One day i may replace the flasher relay, when the weather warms up. Mark
