Reversing car died Restarted tried to shift. And. Nothing.

Toyota Camry 2000 automatic. It had been sitting for a year. Battery is old but managed too run. I reversed. Over snowed 10 feet then car died I had too noisy the car to get it working again. Then when I tried to shift gears. Nothing
Sounds like you were stuck in Snow? Trying to get un stuck is a sure way to damage a auto trans. Check the tyranny fluid. Does it smell Burnt? What color is it?

I've been told it could bea linkage to the transmission. Is it's quick fix and how much. Thks
Can not determine cost with out an under car inspection. One would also have to disassemble the shift console for inspection. I
