For about a week now, when i turn on the air condition, i smell what seems to be gas fumes, what is this, what should i ckeck before taking it to a mechanic?

The lst thing i did prior to this happening was add 1/2 gt of oil, dut to leak that i have not had repaired yet, due to cost, affordability.

Sounds like perhaps a leaking o-ring on a fuel injector, or a leaking fuel line to the throttle body. Have this checked out immediately as fuel is highly flammable. If you're smelling it through the A/C vents it means it is coming from the front of the vehicle in the engine compartment.
